Innombrables sont les croyances, les mythes, les rituels qui convergent autour de la Terre Mère depuis les temps anciens. L'histoire de l'humanité tire sa substance de sa fertilité et c'est ainsi que Claudio Capanna dans sa recherche personnelle, "Mater".

Un hymne à la mère nature, à la fertilité, au féminin sacré, aux éléments de base en constante recherche d'équilibre. La terre est le début et la fin de toutes les formes de vie mais trouve dans la femme sa représentation humaine, synthèse de la puissance créatrice et du destin maternel. Une divinité tellurique, capable de se manifester en tout, et de s'ouvrir au ciel, puisqu'elle est la maîtresse de tous les lieux et la gardienne des enfants, depuis la nuit des temps.

"Mater" est un chant qui contient cette épopée à travers des images à caractère sacré. Dans une civilisation qui a perdu l'usage du mot, elles apparaissent comme des hiérophanies qui ont survécu à l'oubli général...
