La vie ordinaire de Robert Maurice Debois l’extraterrestre, vient d’ici et d’ailleurs. L’ouvrage réunit les photographies de l’humain Brice Krummenacker, et retrace les aventures de notre héros : Robert Maurice Debois, l’être le plus classe de la voie lactée, voyageur interstellaire et Alien extraordinaire. Il est né il y a bien longtemps dans une galaxie très lointaine : Gaia, dans l’amas globulaire M 13. Là il capte par hasard le message de d’Arecibo.

Curieux de savoir pourquoi une espèce apparemment intelligente a pris la peine d’envoyer à 150 années lumières de chez elle un message aussi inintéressant que le numéro atomique de l’hydrogène et du carbone, il décide de se rendre sur terre et d’investiguer. Et puis, au passage, ces créatures au mode de vie insipide bénéficieront sans aucun doute de quelques conseils vestimentaires, gastronomique ou autre.

À son arrivée, notre envahisseur de l’espace prend vite conscience d’une chose : la conquête de ce monde où la réalité est de plus en plus virtuelle passera par les réseaux sociaux. Mondino et Terri Richardson étant trop chers, il décide d’asservir Brice Krumenacker à l’aide d’une sonde bien placée. « Lui, j’aime sa coupe ! » aurait-il dit. Le photographe va lui ouvrir des comptes Facebook, Instagram … Et même Tinder ! Les attaques de Robert sont globales : il match, like, tag… Il partage ! Loin des canons de beauté habituels, il s’exhibe et aime poser pour l’objectif. Kebab astral, passion, pour les frères Bogdanov, pour la musique du keyboard cat, garde-robe galactique, petit joint sidérant… Chaque post fictif se réalise et la célèbre formule « Je pense donc je suis » devient « Je poste donc je suis ».

L’incongru, l’inattendu et l’étrange sont les éléments essentiels du voyage de Robert.
