Rustine est le fruit des œuvres photographiques de Simon Vansteenwinckel et de la musique de The Three Oldmen's Birds ( Mathias Van Eecloo ), un projet initié par IIKKI entre septembre 2021 et juillet 2022. L'ensemble du projet se décline en deux supports physiques : le livre et le CD.

Les photos de Rustine ont été prises entre 2012 et 2022 en Belgique, dans le nord de la France et aux États-Unis.
Il peut être appréhendé de différentes manières : lecture du livre seul, écoute du CD seul, ou lecture et écoute conjointes du livre et du CD.
