Vingt ans après les attentats du World Trade Center, j'ai cherché à savoir comment les tours jumelles avaient été utilisées auparavant dans la publicité comme emblème de la ville de New York, et je suis tombé sur une publicité de 1979 pour Pakistan International Airlines dans le magazine Le Point. Il était frappant de voir à quel point l'ombre d'un Boeing 747 projetée sur les tours avait un impact totalement différent avant le 11 septembre. Cette publication commence par une photocopie de la publicité de PIA dans Le Point et se poursuit par une photocopie de la photocopie précédente, jusqu'à atteindre la destruction totale de l'image au milieu du livre. À partir de là, nous assistons à une renaissance progressive et inversée de la publicité, dans une subtile reconstitution des tours emblématiques.

Tiane Doan Da Champasak

Tiane Doan na Champassak (1973) est un artiste visuel français. Au cours des 15 dernières années, il a développé un corpus complexe d'œuvres qui infusent sa propre production photographique avec des techniques d'appropriation, de variation, de réutilisation et de répétition. Champassak soumet des matériaux provenant d'Internet, de souvenirs personnels, de photographies vernaculaires et de coupures de magazines à une grande variété de procédés liés à l'arsenal conceptuel du postmodernisme, remettant en question des thèmes tels que la sexualité, l'identité de genre et la censure. Tous ses livres autoédités sont publiés sous le label Siam's Guy Books et font partie d'importantes collections privées et publiques telles que le MoMA, le Getty Research Institute, l'ICP, le Centre Pompidou, le MEP, la Tate, etc.
