"En dépit de l'intensité de nos expériences, les souvenirs que l'on en garde s'estompent et fanent avec le temps.
Les images peuvent nous aider à surmonter ce phénomène. Une photographie a non seulement le pouvoir d'embellir notre mémoire, mais peut même créer un "souvenir" à partir de rien. Les images du passé, et du passé lui-même, peuvent devenir notre réalité. Est-ce parce que nous considérons inconsciemment que la photographie est plus fiable que le souvenir immatériel et évanescent?
Cependant, elles cherchent toutes à aiguiller notre imagination et à évoquer des émotions lointaines ou des échos de nos propres expériences passées. Elles dépeignent des moments fragiles, intangibles et fugaces, de chaleur, d'ombre, d'eau et de lumière et se présentent comme s'il s'agissait de pensées oubliées depuis longtemps ou de sensations vaguement remémorées.
Elles éveillent nos sens et deviennent des histoires. Autrefois pris dans une toile interne, nos souvenirs se dénouent, remontent à la surface et sont libérés dans une effervescence méditative qui nous ramène à un endroit, un moment, une sensation qui est presque effacée. Les images sont des mondes dans les mondes."
