En 1958, Claudia Cardinale a tout juste vingt ans. Elle arrive à Rome couronnée du titre de La Plus Belle Italienne de Tunis. Dans un appartement baigné de soleil, elle pose pour un paparazzi de la presse populaire. On ne sait rien de lui. Seule demeure la preuve de son talent à installer une complicité avec son jeune modèle. C’est le temps de la Dolce Vita, des roman-photos, de l’éclosion des jeunes actrices épousant leur époque et quelques fois leurs pygmalions de réalisateurs. Claudia y apparaît radieuse, espiègle et profondément humaine avant qu’elle ne devienne la star que nous connaissons. Publiées pour la première fois, ces photographies nous entraînent dans un tourbillon joyeux où éclatent toute la fraîcheur, la spontanéité, la sensualité et le talent de Claudia.
En écho à ces images provenant des archives Graziano Arici, le philosophe Frédéric Schiffter propose son Eloge de la starlette dans lequel il évoque de façon personnelle sa passion pour ces demoiselles à la fois naïves et délurées.
