"Le Friese-Greene Club est peut-être le plus petit cinéma d'Asie, avec seulement neuf places.
Le propriétaire m'a autorisé à l'utiliser pour le photographier. Lorsque nous avons terminé notre shooting, le cinéma a commencé à préparer la projection du soir, et alors que les images du film étaient projetées sur l'écran, notre modèle est passé par hasard devant le faisceau du projecteur, j'ai rapidement pris mon appareil photo et, par un heureux hasard, le modèle a semblé pendant un instant ne faire qu'un avec le film lui-même.
J'y suis retourné plusieurs fois, avec de nombreux modèles différents. Je n'ai jamais eu le choix de la pellicule qui allait être jouée, et je n'ai pas pu faire de pause ou de retour en arrière pour trouver un cadre particulier. Il était impossible de "diriger" l'arrière-plan, et la personne elle-même qui posait, debout dans le faisceau, n'avait aucune idée du film qui était projeté. Pourtant, les modèles se fondaient si bien avec l'image qu'ils avaient l'impression d'avoir parfaitement le droit d'être là.
Pendant quatre ans, j'y suis retourné régulièrement, occupant l'heure entre l'ouverture des portes et le début du film. Pendant cette heure, nous avons voyagé à travers de nombreuses décennies, de nombreux pays, d'innombrables célébrités et de nombreux genres.
Cette collection est un hommage à la magie du cinéma, une ode au Friese-Greene Club, et une célébration de la beauté."
