Le travail sur “Between the dog and the wolf” m'est venu, comme le font tant de choses en photographie, sous la forme d'une observation simple et momentanée qui a pénétré ma conscience et qui, dans cet éclair de reconnaissance, s'est étendu à quelque chose qui me semblait alors être une idée réelle ! Et puis, découvrir que les Français ont un nom pour l'heure bleue, qu'ils appellent “Entre chien et loup”, a immédiatement planté dans mon esprit le double potentiel de cette heure de la soirée où la lumière rend les choses difficiles à voir, et parfois, des choses simples et innocentes ramassent les traces d'un autre aspect de l'esprit ou de la personnalité. Ce passage subtil du connu à l'inconnu, de l'apprivoisement à l'état sauvage, est devenu l'idée sous-jacente à l'origine de ces œuvres.
