Cette première édition publiée en 1978 présente toutes les images désormais iconiques de la série Cape Light du photographe américain Joel Meyerowitz. À Cape Light, les scènes de tous les jours — une tempête qui approche, une épicerie locale au crépuscule, la vue par la fenêtre d’une chambre à coucher — sont transformées par la superbe lumière naturelle de Cape Cod et la vision lumineuse du photographe. Bien que Meyerowitz ait commencé à photographier en couleur dans les rues de New York une décennie plus tôt, c’est cette collection de photographies qui a porté sa photographie en couleur sensible à une plus grande reconnaissance.
