Inspiré par la maternité de son épouse, Joakim Eskildsen initie le projet Home Works en 2005. A travers le regard candide de ses deux enfants, l'artiste immortalise sa vie de famille. Une sortie dominicale, une sieste ou un après-midi dans le jardin sont des instants dont le photographe s’empare pour capter la beauté innocente de son fils et de sa fille qui évoluent dans la vie.
"Home Works ne raconte pas les joies et tribulations de mes enfants, mais l’expression de ma vision artistique: un espace façonné par mes rêves et mes désirs."
De la sérénité d'un lieu familier à la beauté envahissante des paysages, Joakim Eskildsen réalise ici un recueil de contes photographiques qui invite à la découverte d’un monde merveilleux. Loin de ses travaux documentaires précédents tel The Roma Journeys, Home Works est une œuvre contemplative et une relecture des premières influences artistiques de l’auteur: photographier son environnement au gré des lumières et du temps.
