'Redheads' est le livre fondateur de la carrière de Joel Meyerowitz, publié pour la première fois en 1991. Cette extraordinaire collection de portraits célèbre le caractère unique et l'attrait des personnes aux cheveux roux et aux taches de rousseur.

Le premier cliché de la série 'Redheads' est né en 1978 à Cape Cod, lorsque Meyerowitz utilisait un appareil photo grand format 8 x 10 pouces. À partir de ce moment, sa fascination pour les caractéristiques particulières de ces sujets est toujours restée vivace.

Malgré leurs différences en termes de sexe, d'âge, de nationalité et de religion, les rousses semblent avoir un lien secret qui les unit dans une même famille.
