Attiré par une nature rugueuse aux conditions extrêmes, Sébastien Van Malleghem réunit les souvenirs d’une aventure imaginaire en solitaire. Un retour aux sources qui se transforme en une plongée dans ses archives. Les images ont été réalisées aux Etats-Unis, en Floride, en Norvège, en Islande, en Bretagne ou encore, tout simplement, depuis son jardin belge. De l’envol d’un corbeau jusqu’à un océan noir comme la nuit en passant par une immersion sous-marine entouré d’alligators, Van Malleghem transcrit une épopée dénuée d’êtres humains – ceux-ci sont à peine perceptibles. Ses arrêts sur image contemplatifs sont rythmés par des impressions aux teintes dorées, rappelant le fil de lumière qui ourle parfois les montagnes dans l’obscurité du nord de la Norvège.
