'Correspondence', une étude archéologique moderne, est le plus récent livre de Hajime Kimura. Il a voyagé dans la région de Torres Vedras, au nord de Lisbonne. C’est là que se trouvent les sites archéologiques et historiques les plus célèbres pour les fortifications de la guerre napoléonienne de 1810. En retraçant l’une de ces anciennes gammes, Kimura a documenté les paysages actuels et les déchets qu’il a trouvés lors de ses promenades, tout en notant les coordonnées, les dates et les heures, comme un archéologue.

Ce que nous avons maintenant reconnu comme de simples déchets peut devenir un indice pour explorer le passé dans quelques décennies, voire quelques centaines d’années. J’ai décidé de transmettre ce message aux gens du futur qui ne l’ont pas encore vu, des photos de déchets et du paysage environnant où les déchets étaient tombés.
