Baudelaire, surprenant, écrit ces mots, quand la modernité bascule vers une industrialisation effrénée, une pollution pandémique, une sur-exploitation exponentielle des océans, qui sont très probablement à l’origine de la vie et participent de l'équilibre climatique.

J'ai voulu les photographier avec sobriété et radicalité, dans leurs reflets du ciel, au coucher du soleil et à la nuit tombante, dans la lumière et la noirceur. Contraste maximum, entre la pureté de l'eau et la suggestion de nappes d'hydrocarbures. Entre bonheur et apocalypse. Entre désir et peur. Mais aussi fascination de la fin des temps, beauté de l’effroi. Il s'agit tout autant d’interroger l'avenir des océans que de nous interroger nous même. Car pour en revenir à Baudelaire, qui fut, on le sait obsédé par une quête du modernisme : « La mer est ton miroir ; tu contemples ton âme ». "

Premier livre auto-édité, ce projet est une série d'images de la surface de la mer à Lanzarote, un travail radical et quasiment monochrome sur la texture, la matière, mais aussi l'ivresse, la perte de soi dans ces images, dans ces vagues, qui nous emportent.

Exemplaires signés par l'artiste. Livre "dos nu" sans reliure, les pages étant smplement collées dos à dos, pour un rendu très épuré.
